California Road Trip: Santa Barbara

It feels like it was months and months ago already, but in April I jumped on a flight from London Heathrow by myself and ventured across the atlantic to LA to be reunited with a few of my pals to embark on the holiday of a life time.

California has always been my dream, as a teenager I was obsessed with the OC and was determined to one day be a MASSIVE fangirl and visit Newport Beach so a road trip from Santa Barbara down to San Diego was the one.

After a longggg flight and being awake for about 28 hours after getting lost around LA driving around the same block for a couple of hours (you do not want to know), we made it to our Motel in Santa Barbara.

We jumped in our sexy SUV and decided to go for a drive up to Santa Barbara mission, one of the oldest buildings in Cali.  Santa Barbara is a very spanish influenced town and you can really tell this in the architecture, it’s pretty beautiful compared to a lot of the built up cities.

Santa Barbara Courthouse is also worth a visit, a beautiful building still in use to this day.

Even though it wasn’t the sunniest of days we headed down to the beach and the pier as apparently it’s one of the better California beaches.  However I’d say explore further down the coast as our beaches only got better and better.
