Soho Music Month 2018

Soho music month, the first free music and cultural festival took place in Carnaby street over the month of June 2018. The month celebrated the area’s rich music heritage in line with the Mayor of London’s ‘Sounds like London’ initiative, championing London’s world class music offering. Curators included Jazzie b, gal-dem, Ashley Walters, DJ Target, Jumpin Jack Frost, Bossy LDN, Rock the Belles, Reprezent Radio and many more.
Melissa project managed and produced this first edition of Soho music month with a small team, programming and producing 20 + events across the month of June. These were a range of live shows, workshops, conversations and panels hosted in a pop-up store on London’s Carnaby Street.
As part of this event a team of young people were hired as an apprenticeship to help organise the festival, training them in event production and management, marketing, social media and other areas to help build their experience within the Creative Industries.
